Filmed in 1918, "A Dog's Life" can certainly be considered one of Charlie Chaplin's absolute masterpieces. Here, his art reached the pinnacle of an unparalleled career. That year, Chaplin, thanks to his contract with First National, was free to write and produce as much as he wished. He wanted to depict the poverty of the slums of American cities and express his natural dislike for the repressive authority that police officers represented for the poor. Anticipating the Great Depression, which would come years later, Chaplin spoke to us of the poor but also of the dignity that every human being deserves in the eyes of the world. The stray puppy "Scrap" would be his extraordinary companion, with whom he created extraordinary gags that made this touching short film a timeless masterpiece. After the success of the first two statues dedicated to Charlie Chaplin, we wanted to once again explore his world by recreating the atmosphere of his cinematic style. "Dog's Life" combines all the expressive grandeur that Chaplin conveys through the simplest things, and the couple with the little stray dog ​​is a true triumph of beauty.
