In 2007's Spider-Man 3, Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man donned a black suit as the symbiote alien possessed him. Soon, he realizes that the symbiote has manifested a violent, darker side of himself which he is no longer able to control. At the behest of Mary Jane, Peter decided to detach himself from this dangerous creature.
